ActressSong Hye Kyoand ProfessorSeo Kyoung DukofSungshin Womens Universityhave collaborated to produce and release a multilingual video titled Independence Army Female Warrior,Park Cha Jungin honor of the 106th anniversary of the March 1st Movement.
The video detailsPark Cha Jungs contributions as a special envoy of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, her key role in the Geunuhoe (Korean Womens National Association), the founding of the Nanjing Korean Womens Association, and her work as an instructor at the Korean Revolutionary Military and Political Cadre School.
It also highlights that she was the second female independence activist, afterYu Gwan Sun,to be posthumously awarded the Order of Merit for National Foundation, Independence Medal.
Professor Seo stated,In an effort to shed light on lesser-known female independence activists, we have produced this fourth video following those onJeong Jeong Hwa,Yoon Hee Soon,andKim Maria.We plan to continue creating a multilingual video series to further promote their stories worldwide.
The video is currently being shared on YouTube and various social media platforms, as well as among Korean communities around the world.
For the past 14 years,Song Hye Kyoand ProfessorSeo Kyoung Dukhave donated Korean-language guidebooks, Hangul signs, and independence activist relief artworks to 37 historic sites related to Koreas independence movement overseas, continuing their dedicated efforts to preserve and promote Korean history.
